Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Fomena Constituency, Akwasi Anti Asamoah has expressed his amazement at the rate at which kelewele joints have sprung up in the Kumasi Metropolis in a short while.

He says he has observed
that there’s is either a ‘kelewele’ or roasted plantain joint at every nook and
cranny of the city, billowing an aromatic scent into the airspace.
“Kumasi now smells of kelewele; everywhere you pass there’s somebody either trying kelewele or roasting plantain to sell, all due to the good works of Nana Akufo Addo”, he said in an interview on Kumasi-based Angel FM on the eve of Christmas, monitored by MyNewsGh.com .

Kumasi is a bustling
metropolis with a vibrant street food culture, and there has never been a
shortage of kelewele, which has become a nightly staple for revelers and
lovebirds, save that, it is expensive
when plantain is scarce.
