American rapper, songwriter and television personality, Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, known by her stage name Cardi B, is reported to have paid a colossal GHC68, 000 for a suite per night at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra when he visited recently.
According to the Washington Post, the 27-year-old rapper
paid $ 12, 000 a night which translates to some GHC68,000 in order to occupy
the exclusive suite at the luxurious hotel has been key in promoting Ghana and
getting Americans to visit the country through her social media activities.
Cardi B generated controversy when she was accused of ignoring some Ghanaian celebrities who had gone to interact with her in a “meet and greet” session but rather had chosen to eat some khebab.
It was revealed later that she had been unaware of the meet
and greet season with the Ghanaian celebrities. Notwithstanding, the meet and
greet session did happen much later after social media users had drawn her
attention to it.
