Why is NPP social media army silent about latest corruption ranking -Manasseh mocks

Daring investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has asserted that the reality of corruption in the country is worse than the latest Corruption Perception Index in which Ghana has performed worse that it did last year , challenging New Patriotic Party(NPP)  activists to propagate the gains the NPP’s ‘gains’ in the fight against corruption.

The 2019 Corruption Perception Index released by
Transparency International puts Ghana at the 80th position out of 180, a drop
in two places from last year’s position of 78th. This means the perception of
corruption is worsening in the country.

For the award-winning journalist of international repute,
activists of the NPP should have been sharing the government’s ‘sterling’
performance in the fight against corruption like they do with other achievements
of the government.

“Are the NPP activists on social media trying to tell us
they haven’t seen the 2019 Corruption Perception Index released by Transparency
International this morning? Why are they not sharing? Corruption was your
biggest weapon against the Mahama administration in the 2016 election.

The CPI, together with Martin Amidu’s and the Chief Clearing Agent’s sterling performances in combatting the menace, should have been your main posts this morning as you often do even when the president goes to borrow and gives contracts to foreigners. Why are you silent on this unprecedented achievement? The fact that the Corruption Reality Index is worse than the Corruption Perception Index in your government does not mean you should be silent. Compare your scores to the Mahama era. And share gidigidi,” he mocked in a post on his Facebook page sighted by MyNewsGh.com .

Corruption has been a major campaign message of politicians
in Ghana. The NPP in opposition promised to fight corruption when it was voted
into power. The latest corruption index shows that corruption may be getting
worse, which Manasseh has argued is really worse in reality.
