Sammy Gyamfi was arrested over forgery, publication of fake news: Ghanatoday.net

Even though lawyers for Sammy Gyamfi, who has been arrested and granted bail insist he has not been charged, the police in a press release has stated reasons for which he was arrested

“Mr. Samuel Gyamfi, Communications Director of the
National Democratic Congress (NDC) is under investigation for possession of
forged document and publication of false news with the intent to cause fear and
alarm,” a note accompanying a statement signed by the head of Public
Affairs at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) , DSP Juliana Obeng,
said.

Earlier on Monday January 27, 2020, the Communications
Officer was arrested at the premises of UTV after a political show.

Members of the NDC massed up at the premises of the Police headquarters where he had been held until his release on bail.

The press release by the police adds some details of his bail:
his bail has two sureties and he is to report to the CID headquarters once
every week.
