The leader of a fraud gang has been busted after scamming a Deputy Director of National Security and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Kpone-Katamanso Constituency, Hopeson Adorye.

Suspect Jonas Awuah
who operates with other expatriates, confessed to duping a number of
unsuspecting Ghanaians under the guise of offering them mouth-watering
contracts that promises millions of Ghana cedis in returns.
In his last operation that
blew his cover and got him apprehended, he was said to have approached Mr
Adorye and convinced him to become their supplier for oil well cement.
He succeeded in taking
an initial deposit GHC5,000 and returned the following day to take an amount of
GHC55,000 but, unknown to him their scheme had been unmasked.
According to Mr.
Hopeson Adorye, the product which they claim they want supplied is fake as it
contained ordinary sea sand which has been well packaged and labeled as a
product from Indonesia.
Jonas Awuah after his arrest, admitted they wanted to swindle the security operative denying his earlier assertion he was a worker at West Africa Gas Pipeline and other oil fields in the Western Region.

In a post on his Facebook page, Mr Adorye chronicled his experience “This thief and Scammer was arrested this morning around Nyaho Clinic by a team from National security.
These guys scammed me Ghc 5,000.00 yesterday and were coming for Ghc 55,000.00 this morning. I learned they have scammed numerous people in Accra and beyond. They have 2 Indians or Pakistanis they work with. Below is the product they will ask you to supply to West African Gas Pipe Line and Bui dam. Be careful folks
