Minister for Special Development Initiatives, Mavis Hawa Koomson in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen monitored by MyNewsGh.com has said that there is no truth in the empty ambulance story.
“All the Ambulances dispatched were fully furnished except for the 32 extra which will be sent to the office of the ambulance service, but claims of empty ones are palpable falsehood,” she added.
Meanwhile, she stressed all the ambulances would be taken to the regions for inventory before being taken to the Constituencies without any funfair on their arrival.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Tuesday commissioned and distributed the 307 ambulances recently procured to help augment operations of the National Ambulance Service (NAS).
The new ambulances are to be distributed in all 275 constituencies in Ghana in fulfillment of the government’s 2016 election campaign to help improve emergency healthcare delivery.
