The Federation of Muslim Councils in a statement sighted by MyNewsGh.com has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to review the date for the new voters’ registration exercise.

The Federation in a press release said “while we wish the EC well in its endeavours to execute this important national exercise, we also wish to draw attention to the discomfort the exercise would cause Muslims nationwide as it coincides with the fasting period.”

This comes after EC announced April 18th as the date for a new register. The Muslim fasting starts around the same date.
