“The incident that happened has really affected my sleep. I sleep backward facing the ceiling; I cannot turn left or right,” pained Yaro Isharo has revealed after his harrowing experience.

Narrating his ordeal, he said he was shot in his leg on that fateful day and harassed by the masked National Security personnel when observing the by-election process.
That notwithstanding, he revealed that boxer shorts and knickers have become his new wardrobe as he has not worn trousers and long-sleeved shirts a year after the attack.
He made these revelations at the first anniversary to commemorate the January 31, 2019 violence at the La Bawaleshie polling station in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
Mr Ishawu Yaro, last year sued government for himself and on behalf of the other 22 persons who claim to have suffered various forms of injury in the violence that rocked the Ayawaso-West Wuogon by-election on January 31 last year.
It would be recalled that several persons were reportedly injured in violent clashes at the La Bawaleshie polling centre during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-elections.
Some sustained gunshot wounds whilst others were reportedly brutalised by the National Security operatives who were there for an operation.
