A Tema-based businessman in the logistics sector, Benjamin Ashittey has picked nomination forms to contest the Tema East Constituency parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr Benjamin Ashittey will be challenging the Tema East MP
and Deputy Transport Minister, Daniel Nii Titus Glover who is seeking
This is the second time Mr Benjamin Ashittey is contesting
the parliamentary primaries in the constituency.
In the 2015 primaries, Mr Ashittey polled 284 votes while
the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) polled 329 votes to retain his bid to
lead the party.
Speaking to MyNewsGh.com, Mr Benjamin Ashittey said he picked nomination forms to contest again because he is the best person to solve the problems of the people in Tema East.
According to him, the incumbent Member of Parliament has failed to address many of the challenges confronting the electorate in Tema East.
Apart from failing to address the problems of the
electorate, the Tema East aspiring parliamentary candidate accused the
incumbent MP of failing to unify the members of the NPP.
