Mr Agyapong on NET 2 Television monitored by MyNewsGh.com wondered why Abronye DC who is his boy, openly declared his support for an opposing candidate seeking to unseat the incumbent in variance with the rules and regulations of the party bothering on internal elections.
The NPP firebrand who had earlier kicked against attempts by
some executives of the party to prevent prospective candidates from contesting
seating MPs in some constituencies in the Ashanti Region, wondered why that
should be the order of the day when the ruling party prides itself as
pacesetters in democracy.
According to him, the party needs a succession plan and
therefore preventing people from contesting incumbent lawmakers will not augur
well for the party.
But in the case of Abronye DC said to be rooting for one Ransford
Amponsah he said “ Abronye’s mouth is poison like mine. Instead of openly
taking someone to Dormaa West to contest, the best was to talk to the person in
secret…finish you don’t even have to open your mouth…call him to the house and
let the elders speak for him and it will be carried across. He is rushing but
as for me I would not lead such a mission”
Meanwhile, some members of the NPP in the Dormaa
Constituency are up in arms against the Regional Chairman they accused of
fueling a personal agenda against the NPP warning it could cost the party if
care is not taken.
“If Abronye feels he has his personal problem with the MP
but not NPP, by bringing a candidate to contest him , he is not doing the party
any good but trying to snatch the seat back to the NDC”, a constituency
executive who spoke to MyNewsGh.com revealed.
