A member of the opposition National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) legal team Abraham Amaliba has said in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com that facts about the Airbus scandal are feeble.
“They used code names, nobody has been mentioned and in fact, there is no proof that Airbus agent gave money to a government official so what are we investigating?” He quizzed.
The private legal practitioner could not fathom why Mr. Amidu is always given difficult cases to handle when there are cheap ones like missing excavators and tricycles he could easily do and achieve results.
This notwithstanding, Mr. Amaliba said the NDC welcomes the SP’s probe into the issue.
“In order not to sound like they are afraid of accountability, let the SP go on. My only fear is that this [Airbus case] will be difficult but nobody is stopping him,” he said.
However, Mr. Amaliba on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen wondered how Mr. Amidu would prove his case when no official was mentioned in the case.
