“Call Professor Frimpong Boateng, Charles Bissue and Ekow Ewusi to answer if they have to investigate this matter properly”, he disclosed on NET 2 TV monitored by MyNewsGh.com insisting that investigations will be incomplete if the three are not summoned
He cannot fathom why suspended New Patriotic Party (NPP)
Central Regional Vice Chairman, Horace Ekow Ewusi was arrested in connection
the 500 missing excavators when the man whose sole responsibility to ensure
they never got missing in the first place is walking free.
“I agree with calls for the Minister to be arrested. If you are arrested it does not mean you are guilty but if he admitted that the excavators have missing them he ought to have resigned. I concur with the minority for arrest”, he stated on dialogue monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
Mr Kennedy Agyapong insisted “he has to be arrested to
explain circumstances that led to the disappearance of the excavators. Nobody
is above the law….even if the President flouts the law he must be arrested and
questioned. If he is a Minister and so what? What has gone on at his Ministry
deserves probe and he must answer for it”
According to him, they should not narrow investigations on
only Horace Ekow Ewusi but extend it to former Secretary to the
Inter-Ministerial Committee on illegal Mining (IMCIM), Mr Charles Cromwell
Nanabanyin Onuawonto Bissue and the Minister himself.
Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng who is the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology & Innovation and also Chairperson for the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM) had revealed that most of the excavators that were seized from illegal miners have vanished.
