MyNewsGh.com reported earlier that Member of Parliament(MP) for Ablekuma South Constituency in Greater Accra Region Hon. Alfred Oko Vanderpuije had accused the Gender Minister Hon Cynthia Mamle Morrison of politicizing the distribution of food meant for the vulnerable.
In response to his accusation, Hon Cynthia Mamle Morrison has refuted those claims and asked the general public to treat them as propaganda.
According to the honorable minister in the interview MyNewsGh.com monitored, it is a calculated attempt by some people to undermine the initiative and tarnish the reputation of the ministry and the NPP Government.
“It’s not true. Some members of Parliament and other politicians and stakeholders are also sharing food. Hon. Adwoa Safo even started before the president. Hon. Oko Vanderpuije is also sharing food. They are politicians and can choose to share to their party members. I can’t stop them but for our food, we are not politicising it”, she told DJ Cobby on Radio 1(100.7).
Hon. Cynthia Morrison added that the process is supervised by the social welfare and if such thing was happening on grounds, she would have been in the known.
“The food is distributed by NADMO staff after the assembly and social welfare officials have confirmed the quantity and taste. The NADMO officials are not NPP. They can be sympathizers but not all of them can belong to one party. So we are not doing politics with the distribution” – She added.
