Former Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Coastal Development Authority and current CEO of CitiTV and CitiFM, Samuel Atta-Mensah( alias Sammens) has revealed that he has no New Patriotic Party(NPP) membership card.
Mr Atta-Mensah speaking Thursday on CitiTV’s What the Papers Are Saying show with Vivian Kai Lokko maintained that even though he has no party card, he has the political party that he supports.
“In this our country, how many people really have party cards? I don’t have…We may have our political parties we support,” he stated.
Mr Atta-Mensah was reacting to claims by Member of Parliament (MP) for Klottey-Korle Dr Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings that food meant for the vulnerable in the midst of the coronavirus scourge is being distributed on a partisan basis, with some ‘distributors’ demanding party cards before giving flood to the underprivileged.
In his view, asking for party cards is not a feasible way of distributing the food given that many supporters of political parties do not have party cards, including himself.
Mr Atta-Mensah is widely thought as an active member of the NPP, especially when he was appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the CEO of the Coastal Development Authority.
But Mr Atta-Mensah resigned as CEO of the authority after barely four months after he reportedly fell out with the superintending Minister of the authority, Mavis Hawa Koomson.
