The Nanton District Health Directorate of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has hailed Presidential Staffer Napaga Tia Sulemana for donating to the health facilities aimed at combating the deadly coronavirus in the area.
Mr Duut Damyar, the District Diseases Control Officer who received the items on behalf of the Senior Government Official stated that it was a timely intervention by Napaga indicating that it would go a long way to save lives of residents in the area.
According to him, the area is currently in dire need of Personal Protective Equipments (PPES) adding that her donation could not have come at a better time than when community campaigns and surveillance have been intensified.
Napaga Tia Sulemana on Thursday through Mr Gilbert Dery donated 100 liquid soap, 200 hand sanitizers, some boxes of tissue and 15 Veronica budgets with stands and washing bowls to be placed at vantage points to promote effective hand washing with soap in the area.
DCE of the area Hon Abdul- Rahamani Abubakari who received the items before handing them over to the Health Directorate, promised they will be used for the intended purpose underscoring the need for residents to abide by the health protocols of regular hand washing with soup, use of the hand sanitizers and social distancing to combat the spread of the virus.
The Northern Region has recorded 11 cases of the virus.
