Suspended Former Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Bernard Allotey Jacobs believes the party’s hierarchy by its decision of suspend him is also suspending its votes.
He is of the view that votes that would have hitherto come from himself, his family and persons associated with him at the 2020 polls will also remain suspended.
“I have my own independent mind and I believe that I will always stand for the truth, and if the party dislikes it and for that reason, they are suspending me beautiful. Therefore means, you are suspending me, my votes, my family etc”, he pointed out to Evans Mensah in the wake of news of his suspension last Wednesday monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
Mr Allotey Jacobs was suspended for his “persistent anti-party conduct” which many have linked to his regular criticism of the NDC in the media, mainly as a regular panelist on Peace FM’s Kokorooko show.
The Functional Executive Committee which acted in the stead of the National Executive Committee therefore suspended the embattled former executive describing his acts as” persistent anti-party conduct”.
In a letter dated 6th May, 2020 and signed by the party’s National Chairman, Mr Allotey Jacobs is said to have breached articles 46(1), 46(6) and 46(8)(b) of the NDC constitution.
