General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) , John Boadu has dropped a hint that the party’s manifesto for the 2020 campaigns is almost done by the team tasked to produce it led by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia
According to him, the political party would have been done with all its plans for election 2020 if the country was not bedeviled with the deadly coronavirus because they had intentions of launching their campaign team and manifesto on May 2.
“The Political Party’s manifesto which is written by a Committee headed by the Vice President is almost done. But for Coronavirus that has come to affect a number of things in the country, we would have launched that campaign team and others on May 2,” he said in an interview with Peace FM in Accra monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
He said the Committee writing the party’s manifesto headed by the Vice President of Ghana is almost done because although there’s coronavirus, they meet via various innovative means to ensure that the party is at par with its competition.
He noted that there are concerns by party members on the inability of the party to manage its affairs in order to get the party ahead but he promised that the team at the helm of affairs have ensured that they put together innovative ways for victory to be handed to the New Patriotic party on December 7.
On whether the NPP will handpick candidates for Parliamentary Candidates, the General Secretary of the NPP said the body of the political party that holds that power are revered people who will not do anything that will hurt the NPP’s fortunes in 2020.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in February this year set up a 10-member Manifesto Committee for the 2020 general election.
The committee, which is chaired by the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, includes Mr Alan Kwodwo Kyerematen; Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh; Mr Ken Offori-Atta; Mrs Elizabeth Ohene; Hajia Alima Mahama; Mr Yofi Grant; Mr Yaw Buaben Asamoa; Mr Kweku Agyeman-Manu and Dr Afriyie Akoto as members.
