Bolgatanga Central constituency Executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) have accused the Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive(MCE) Joseph Atura Amiyuure of working at variance with the fortunes of the party in the constituency.
A statement signed by the constituency Chairman Alhaji Alhassan Amaliba said “We have been compelled to bring to your notice through this medium after several efforts have been made to draw his attention to his actions which are impacting negatively on the party and the government. The constituency executives on countless occasions invited the MCE to meet and iron these issues but to no avail”.
The livid executives say Mr. Joseph Amiyuure’s recent handling of the relocation of some traders in the central market which led to a demonstration is one of the many unpopular decisions he has taken that has generated some disaffection for the party in the constituency.
“He does not involve himself in party activities and also does not support the party. He takes unilateral decisions which ultimately affects the party negatively, for example the relocation of market women which was done without broader consultations,” the statement added.
They disclosed that a petition that was issued in relation to the actions and inactions of the MCE has not been considered adding that “The entire constituency executives, electoral area coordinators and and party foot soldiers deem it necessary to once again draw the attention of the President and the National hierarchy of our great party to the actions and inactions of the MCE of the Bolgatanga Municipal, Hon. Joseph Aura Amiyuure which is gradually sinking the image of the party to a large extent the government.”
