National Chairman of the People’s National Convention, Bernard Mornah has vowed he will not go down without a fight even as he was ushered into the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters on Tuesday.
The renowned leading demonstrator in Ghana’s history told the media prior to being pushed into the police interrogation room that he prepared to lay his life for the truth at all times.
“I am prepared to sacrifice my life for the truth. What have I said wrong? Just cautioning the EC regarding how they are handling the decision to compile a new register is a crime? For me, I stand by what I said and I will not be timid and will resist any attempt to shut me up” he disclosed.
Mr Mornah stormed the CID Headquarters in the company of members of members Inter-Party Resistance Against the New Voters’ Register clad in red with placards some of which read “Voice of the voiceless, Mornah is our voice, Hands off Mornah, We won’t be cowed, among others”.
Mr Mornah is expected to be subjected to hours of grilling over the comments some persons claim are treasonable but an unfazed Mornah insists he stands by those comments.
“They (CID) must be assured that I am not departing from any word that I uttered because the Electoral Commission’s actions are going to lead to confusion.
“And when there is confusion at our registration centers, even the staff of the Electoral Commission will not be safe from the confusion.
“I insist there will be confusion. If I warn you about the dangers and you invite me, I will come and repeat them,” he said.
