The Chairman of the People’s National Convention, (PNC), Bernard Mornah today honoured the invitation of Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service after he was invited for questioning over alleged threats he made against the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
The PNC’s chairman was clad in war dress signifying his readiness for war If any should erupt.
He arrived at the Police Headquarters in the company of some members of the Inter-Party Resistance Against the New Voters‘ Register who were there in solidarity to support their leading member .
The PNC’s Chairman is on record to have said that “People who are already Ghanaians are already registered are going to be taken out of the voters’ register, don’t think confusion will come at the registration station and if confusion comes there, you think the EC staff will be safe, we will beat each other there and, we will kill each other there if that is what the EC wants to lead this nation to”.
The opposition NDC has since declared its support for the comments made by Bernard Mornah and have vowed to resist with their blood any attempts by the electoral commission to compile a new voters register.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission has indicated its commitment to compiling new voter register as the country laces her boot for December 7 elections. Thie commission has indicated that it will begin the registration in June; an exercise which is expected to last for 40 days.
