Former Member of Parliament(MP) for the Kwadaso Constituency, Josephine Hilda Addo, who is seeking to reenter parliament on the back of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) upcoming Parliamentary Primaries on June 20, has rubbished claims by the party’s 2nd National Vice Chairman, F.F. Antoh that she has been disqualified from the race.
MyNewsGh.com earlier reported that Mr F.F. Anto had said in an interview with Kumasi-based Pure FM on Thursday that, Mrs Addo had been disqualified by The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party “for her bad behavior”.
“Some people filed; article 12 of the party Constitution stipulates how our candidates are chosen. You should have been an active member of the party for 2 years, you have nurtured the constituency, and you are of good character. We stopped some from contesting because their character is not good. We disqualified somebody like Hilda Addo because of her bad character, because her utterances on radio have always been distasteful to the party”. He said.
But reacting to Mr F.F. Antoh’s comments in an interview with Kumasi-based Angel FM, Mrs Hilda Addo said “so far as I’m concerned, the party has not communicated anything to me; I have heard him saying it on radio, but when he was asked the reason for my disqualification, he said ‘bad character’; but he couldn’t say if it meant I was a thief, or infidel or had said anything in the public to disgrace the party; but even I have no such records”.
“He has a personal score to settle with me, that is why he has hastily come out to say such a thing, when he is not the right officer to put it out even if the party has indeed taken such decision; until the party comes out with an official communication, let’s treat it as Mr F.F. Antoh’s own agenda against me”, she said.
