National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party ( NPP), Sammi Awuku is accusing the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of inciting its party members and some youth in the five northern regions to cause mayhem during the upcoming voter registration exercise that starts from June 30.
Mr. Awuku who was in the northern part of the country with Michael Omari-Wadie, 3rd Vice Chairman of the NPP and Deputy National Youth Organizer, Perpetual Lomokie Akwada to train party executives at the constituency and the polling station level to be extra vigilant and avoid any wrongs during the registration exercise, bemoaned the conduct of the NDC led by its General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia alias General Mosquito
“When I reached here, I was told the General Secretary of the NDC, the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, some executives of the party and Bernard Mornah have come to the northern part of this country. They are deliberately trying to incite their supporters, some youth groups and some opinion leaders against the upcoming voters’ registration and the Electoral Commission”
“They even told them when the exercise comes off, they should resist it,” Sammi Awuku told Accra-based Oman FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com
“The advice I am giving to them, particularly the youth group…. when I went to the Upper West they’ve done the same thing, Savannah they’ve done the same thing and the Northern region the same thing… we are telling the people that when any leader/s comes to them to go and cause mayhem, that leader when there is/are issues when you call him he wouldn’t pick”, he emphasised.
He again advised those being urged to go and cause mayhem and confusion to ask themselves where they will end up when they cause such chaos.
