A savvy shopper gave her tired-looking kitchen a modern makeover on a budget of just £250.
Lili Pat Dee, from Manchester, shared impressive before and after photographs to Facebook where she explained how she completed the project.
Talking to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, the thrifty homeowner said: “This is my kitchen, I did on a budget of around £250 – used all B&M, Facebook Marketplace and The Range for accessories.”
Her kitchen previously had pale pink walls, ordinary pine cupboards, with a dark granite worktop.
She switched up the colour scheme by painting the cupboards in stylish dark grey, and covered the surfaces in a white marble-effect vinyl.
Lili went on to say she bought the cupboard paint from B&Q at £9 a tin, on a three-for-two offer.
The laminated flooring was also on offer at B&Q and cost around £97, while the Fablon used to cover the sides, also from B&Q, cost £6 a roll – she bought six.
To optimise the space, Lili made a small breakfast bar using MDF and covered it with the same pattern of vinyl.
She added accessories to complete the look which included a grey bamboo blind from Argos for £15, and from The Range, tea light holders for £5.99 and the £10 vase placed on the cooker.
Lili’s Facebook post has since amassed more than six thousand likes, with hundreds of comments complimenting the overhaul.
One said: “That looks fantastic honestly well done” and another shared: “So lovely. Enjoy your kitchen.”
