The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has from July 4, 2020, gone into isolation upon advice from his Doctors.
A statement from the Ministry of Information and signed by the Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said the President elected to do this after one person within his circles tested positive for COVID-19.
The first test on the President, however, turned out negative but he will be working from the Presidential villa at the Jubilee House out of the abundance of caution.
The deadly virus has infected and killed 4 astute Doctors and has infected over 150 health workers across the country.
Some government officials have also been infected by the deadly virus with two astute persons, Sir John and KK Sam dying as a result.
Ghana’s case count now stands at 19, 388 out of which 14,330 have been discharged with 4,941 being the number of active cases.
Ghana’s death toll is now 117.
Meanwhile, the country although has increasing numbers have started the compilation of a new voters register across the country ahead of the 2020 elections which will be held on December 7.
