Ghana international, Joseph Paintsil, scored a brace for Ankaragücü in an eight-goal thriller on Saturday as they lost to Rizespor in the Turkish Super Lig.
Ankaragücü threw away a two-goal lead to lose 5-3 to Rizespor at the Çaykur Didi stadium in the Turkish Super Liga.
Paintsil netted the game’s opener in the 6th minute and added another ten minutes later for Ankaragücü.
Ex-Chelsea forward, Loïc Remy, scored twice with Fernando and Fernando Boldrin scoring the other goals to give Rizespor the win.
Torgeir Borven got the other consolation for the visitors.
The 22-year-old winger after the game took to Twitter to expresses his happiness opening his scoring account for his new club after four games but said he’s dissatisfied they didn’t bag the three points they desire.
”Despite opening my scoring account, this is not what we expected. The plan is to score and help the team at every time.
”It would have been great to finish the game with a win, but unfortunately we couldn’t.
”We move on to the next one, hopefully, we win that one.”
Paintsil joined Ankaragücü this summer on a season-long loan from Belgian side, KRC Genk, and has scored two goals in four matches.
