Black Stars General Captain, Asamoah Gyan, has said what he likes most about Black Stars Head Coach, C. K Akonnor, is that he is very honest in his dealings and a straightforward person.
Akonnor was appointed in January to take over from Kwesi Appiah in the Black Stars hot seat in a two-year deal after he acted as the assistant of Appiah in a short stint before the technical staff of all national teams were dissolved.
Gyan, who is the Black Stars all-time top scorer, has not featured in any of his two call-ups but has said he’s in constant conversation with the former Kotoko and Hearts of Oak gaffer.
The 34-year-old 109 capped Ghana international added Ghanaians should be patient with the 46-year-old tactician because he is still building a team.
“We spoke a couple of times when he was first appointed. Of course, as one of the experienced figures in the team, we had to share ideas”, Gyan said on an Instagram live while chatting with his fans.
“He is a straightforward person and I like that about him.
“He just came and we have to give him some time, He is still building a team.
“He is very honest in his dealings, and that’s what I like most about him.” He continued.
“He should be allowed to do his work without external influence because if not he will have a lot of problems.”
