Family of Gregory Afoko has denied claims that he died at the hospital on Saturday morning.
News went viral that the suspect in the murder of the late Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) had died of COVID-19.
A close family source told MyNewsGh.com in an interview that their son is alive and that reports suggesting otherwise should be treated with the contempt it deserves.
The family source said though he contracted COVID-19 but was quick to add that he is was being attended to despite denied medical attention earlier
Afoko and one Asabke Alangdi are standing trial on charges of conspiracy to commit murder and for allegedly killing the Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Adams Mahama, in 2015.
The two have since pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against them.
