Residents of Nkoranza North Constituency in the Bono East Region are determined to see the back of the lawmaker for the area and Deputy Minister of Defense Hon Major (Retired) Derek Oduro out of parliament after the 2020 polls.
MyNewsGh.com’s visit to the constituency revealed that several communities though are campaigning seriously for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to be retained, the same cannot be said about the retired military officer.
In his place, they are asking that residents vote for the National Democratic Congress(NDC) parliamentary candidate Joseph Kwasi Mensah and have gone a step further to print banners with Akufo-Addo on one side and the NDC PC on the other, placed at vantage points in some of the prominent communities.
Though the Deputy Defense Minister claims the move is being orchestrated by some persons within and is optimistic of retaining the seat after 14 years as an MP, residents have vowed to show him a lesson of his life.
This comes less than a week after the Minister and his entourage were booed and chased out of a community recently over failed campaign promises.
According to a video in possession of MyNewsGh.com, the MP and his team who were in one of the communities in his constituency are seen being sacked by angry residents of Kranka who were heard shouting a phrase from VVIP ‘s song “Away!!!, Away!!!, Away!!!” to wit they were not welcome to the area.
MyNewsGh.com gathered that constituents booed at the campaign vehicles that sped off the area out of shame because they were angered by the fact the MP failed to honour his promise to the people of the area despite series of reminders.
